Welcome!
The HBCU Film Invitational is the nation's premier showcase dedicated exclusively to the cinematic works of students from the 107 HBCUs, serving over 228,000 students nationwide.
After four years of development, while battling an unforeseen pandemic, 2022 marked our first opportunity to showcase the talent you can find on an HBCU campus.
This moment would not have been possible without the support of our Network Partner HBCU GO TV, our co-hosts Kayla Pittman and Asia Martin, special guest Kayla Gorden, and a selfless group of Metro-Detroit small businesses that include Benito’s Pizza, The Garden Theater, The Jagged Fork, Yum Village and more!
It's time to celebrate the Invitational Top 25 Class of 2024! Join our host, performer and FAMU alumna Mel Mitchell, as we reveal this year's Jury Award Recipient during the 2024 Invitational Awards Presentation, brought to you by The Skillman Foundation and Ally. Premiering in November.
In a present climate where foundations for accessibility and opportunity for minority communities are under siege, it is imperative that we create an ecosystem that will grant younger creatives access to the tools that can lead to growth and sustainable success.
