Autumn Sun is thrilled to announce Center Field Detroit, the cities first ever HBCU dance clinic.
A two-day dance intensive granting Metro Detroit students the opportunity to train with members from some of the nations most prestigious and electrifying majorette organizations at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Led by instructors Shelbie Newman (Jackson State), Mya Matthews (Grambling State), and Kayla King (Texas Southern), and Coordinator, Kayla Gorden (Jackson State), attending students will learn the fundamentals to performing at the highest level on the dance floor and in the classroom.
"As a member of my high school marching band, I know firsthand the influence HBCU culture on my experience. Unfortunately, that was always from a thousand miles away." Says Autumn Sun Founder and Detroit native, Bruce Clifton. "Center Field Detroit is an opportunity to bring that culture to our youth. A tangible experience that can inspire creativity and enforce fundamentals for success in academics and life.”
The camp will run July 31st and August 1st, with registrations available for $35. Slots are limited and available for sign-up through July 25th. Students must be between the ages of 12-18 to participate, and all skill levels are welcome. CLICK HERE to register today!
